The Yuthok Nyingthig Ngöndro (preliminary practices) consists of three main parts:
- The 'common' ngöndro: four thoughts that turn the mind to the dharma
- The 'uncommon' ngöndro: the seven practices of Refuge, Bodhichitta, Prostrations, Mandala Offering, Circumambulation, Kusali
- The 'routine' ngöndro: instructions on how to bring the practice into daily life to benefit others in a direct way.
It is highly encouraged that participants of Dr. Nida's Tummo and Karmamudra teachings attend this course in order to better understand the details of the ngöndro practice, the root of the tree out of which all Vajrayana practices grow. Students will gain an understanding in the theory behind the practice, as well as learn how to comfortably go through the sequence of the practice, either as a daily practice or in the context of a seven day retreat. This is an excellent teaching for all new students, for practitioners of other lineages who are entering into the Yuthok Nyingthig, as well as for seasoned Yuthok practitioners to review and refine their practice.
By donation for participants of Dr. Nida's program.
This course is also open to the public, all are welcome.
$50 suggested donation for those not attending Dr. Nida's teaching.
