Tanaduk Garden Day

Pure Land Farms was named after Tanaduk, the Pure Land of the Medicine Buddha — a botanical garden filled with medicinal plants where healing of Body, Speech, and Mind occurs naturally.

Our center’s educational gardens are designed according to the geometric principles of Medicine Buddha’s Pure Land as described in Tibet’s traditional medical texts, the Gyudzhi with the aim of promoting healing, harmony, and meditative awareness for all who visit.

We are happy to invite our local sangha to participate in the development of this healing garden by volunteering in the garden on the last Saturday of every month. Projects will vary from month to month and will be guided by our garden experts and ongoing sangha participation will take place on Wednesdays after our weekly meditation.

You may join for any part of the day as your schedule permits, but if you would like to learn more about the garden and connect more with the lineage of practices taught at Pure Land Farms, please join us for our morning community offerings:

9am - 10am :
Tibetan Healing Yoga: Christiana Polites will guide participants in a simple practice of Nejang yoga exercises and short Medicine Buddha meditation.

10am:
Meet Josh, our garden expert in the Tanaduk garden yurt to learn about a particular herb from the monographs exhibited and be guided on a short herb walk of garden.

Under the direction of our local Tanaduk Garden experts, spend a day of contemplative gardening!
