New Year’s Day Retreat: Tibetan Yoga & Sound Healing
Liz Sung & Micah Sheiner

Thursday January 1st 2026
10am - 5:00 PM

In Person Only

Join us on the first day of the year for a day-long retreat to start 2026 with intentional practices and warm community. Let’s set the tone for a year of focused growth, spaciousness, and wellbeing.

This retreat includes Yuthok practices and meditations to clear obstacles and clarify personal intentions. We’ll open the body and balance the inner winds through Tibetan yoga, movement, and breathwork with Liz Sung. Through reflective journaling and a Sowa Rigpa–guided self-care review, we’ll have the supportive pause and space to step into the new year with more clarity, focus, and joy.

A nourishing lunch will be provided, along with time to enjoy the Medicine Buddha garden, stroll the grounds, and sip herbal teas prepared from the farm. The day concludes with an immersive sound healing journey led by Micah Sheiner.

Beginning the year with time dedicated to productive self care and presence is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves.

Open to people of all levels. Beginners and newcomers welcome.

Liz Sung was raised in New York City and now based in Los Angeles, California. She is a practitioner of the Yuthok Nyingthig—a Vajrayana lineage of the Medicine Buddha—under the guidance of her main teacher Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, with whom she also studied Tibetan yoga and Sowa Rigpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine). Influenced by her Korean heritage and the Mahayana Buddhist traditions of her upbringing, Liz began her dharma education under her first teacher in the Gelug lineage.

As the main yoga teacher for the Sowa Rigpa Institute, Liz helped to develop the institute’s Sowa Rigpa Yoga curriculum integrating Tibetan medicine with Tibetan yoga. She holds certifications in Sowa Rigpa, Hatha yoga, trauma-informed yoga, and meditation.

Beyond this work, Liz has an extensive and diverse background in design and branding with over 18 years of experience in New York City and Los Angeles. Raised in a family of artists and entrepreneurs, she focuses on creativity, practical application, and integration. In 2015, she founded SAMAYA, a meditation lifestyle brand based in Los Angeles, honoring ancient practices with a contemporary perspective.

Micah Sheiner is a vibrational artist/healer. He travels extensively to learn from musical, spiritual, & healing traditions around the world. With inspiration from India, he has dedicated much of his path to the yoga of sound - relating with holistic resonance as a source of medicine, insight, & inspiration. In Nepal he has trained in Himalayan sound healing with singing bowls, gongs, & bells. In Europe he has apprenticed in gong playing, gong yoga, & Starhenge World Peace Bell Gardens. He is currently studying Traditional Tibetan Medicine online with Dr. Nida Chenagtsang & other senior Tibetan doctors - gradually integrating external therapies, mantra & spiritual healing into his sound healing practice.

Micah received a Master’s degree in Education from UCLA. He explores and teaches sound through bowls, gongs, voice, didgeridoo, strings, & percussion instruments. He weaves these into resonant soundscapes for healing, meditation, yoga, & journeying. Micah conducts sound baths, workshops, individual sessions, & performances in California and internationally.
