Women in the Dharma:
A Talk with Tibetan Nun, Ani Choyang
Saturday October 3rd 2026
11am - 12:30pm
Livestreamed and in person at Pure Land Farms Topanga
Hidden Happiness Tour
Join Tibetan nun Ani Choyang for a conversation on the role of women within Tibetan Buddhism, drawn from her own path — leaving Tibet as a young woman, entering monastic life in 2003 under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and pursuing one of the highest levels of study open to Buddhist nuns. Ani Choyang will speak to what that path has meant for her and for the wider community of women now training, teaching, and shaping the future of the tradition.
This talk is offered by donation. All proceeds support Jangchub Choeling Nunnery and its emerging vision of a global learning community for women in the dharma, fostering cross-cultural exchange.
Ani Choyang brings a rare perspective shaped by nearly two decades of contemplative study alongside formal science education and neuroscience training. Her current interests include lucid dreaming and dream yoga, offering an unusual window into how ancient practices and modern research can approach some of the same enduring questions about awareness, sleep, consciousness, and human experience. Alongside this work, she currently coordinates the Library and Learning Center at Jangchub Choeling Nunnery and continues to travel and study in service of the dharma.

About Jangchub Choeling Nunnery
Jangchub Choeling (Mundgod, South India) is an institution established by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The nunnery is home to over 380 nuns and continues to grow as a center for the study of Buddhist philosophy and its dialogue with contemporary science.
