Ku Nye (Tib. སྐུ་མཉེ།) massage originated from the ancient kingdoms of Tibet over 3900 years ago and is a practice indigenous to the Tibetan Medical tradition. Earliest Tibetans practiced Ku Nye through the diagnosis and application of specific infused oil or substances to treat the person’s imbalance or constitution and exertion of pressure on different parts and points of the body in order to both prevent disease and restore the individual to a state of health and wellbeing.

In this one day introductory workshop Thurid Köester, Kunye Massage therapist and Sorig Khang International teacher from Germany, will introduce the fundamental theory behind Traditional Tibetan Medicine and Massage and demonstrate and guide participants in practical application of certain techniques used in this unique style of therapeutic bodywork.

This workshop is suitable for anyone curious about Tibetan healing modalities, and especially useful to massage therapists or practitioners of other healing arts who would like to broaden their skill set.

Pure Land Farms, in collaboration with Sorig Khang International, is currently developing a full 500 hour curriculum in Tibetan Kunye Massage. For those interested in training in this massage professionally in the future, please join us for this one day introduction.
