Yuthok Nyingthig Kusali Chöd
with Amchi Tenzin Yangdon
Sunday, September 20th, 3-5pm
IN PERSON ONLY
Join Dr. Tenzin Yangdon in a group practice on the ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice of Chöd (“cutting through” or “severance.”) based on the teachings of the 11th-century Tibetan yogini Machig Labdrön as presented in the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition. Participants will practice the concise sadhana known as the Yuthok Nyingthik Lujin (“Body Offering”) or Kusali Tsok (“Beggar’s Feast”) that concludes the Yuthok Nyingthig ngöndro preliminary practices. This is a perfect practice for modern times, especially for those involved in the healing arts.
Chöd is a profound practice that has been employed by yogis and healers across the Himalayas for centuries used to cut through fears and self-cliniging, and to cancel karmic debt,
Dr. Tenzin will teach the meaning & visualizations of this profound practice, the melody, and how to use the ritual implements and instruments associated with this practice.
If you have your own chöd drums, kanglings, bells and dorjes, please bring them with you. Instruments are not required.
Dr. Tenzin Yangdon graduated in 1992 from Men-Tsee-Khang Tibetan Medical College in Dharamsala, India, where she studied traditional herbal medicine, acupuncture, and holistic healing.
