MEDICINE BUDDHA SAND MANDALA
THE MONKS OF GADEN SHARTSE

JANUARY 2026 PURE LAND FArMS california

As part of their 2026 Sacred Harmony World Peace Tour, the monks of Gaden Shartse Phukhang stayed in residence at Pure Land Farms in Topanga, California for ten days to construct an intricate Medicine Buddha sand mandala. While they constructed the mandala, they also shared teachings, performed healing rituals, and guided meditations for the local community. Once completed, the monks dissolved and dispersed the mandala in the pond at Tanaduk garden, demonstrating the Buddhist teaching of impermanence and spreading the healing sand to the environment and all its sentient beings.
